Zayn Malik Shares Rescheduled North American Tour Dates After Liam Payne’s Death – NME

Zayn Malik has shared the rescheduled dates for his first solo North American tour, following a postponement due to the “heartbreaking” loss of Liam Payne.

Malik was due to head to the States this month for his first solo show in the country, in support of his fourth studio album, Room Under The Stairs, which was released in May.

However, in light of his former One Direction bandmate’s tragic death on October 16 at the age of 31, Malik has decided to postpone the dates.

The Stairway To The Sky tour has now been rescheduled for January, with the seven dates kicking off at The Anthem in Washington on January 21. Concerts in New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas will follow before the tour wraps up at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on February 3. Tickets for sold-out shows remain valid for the new dates.

Zayn Malik will play:

JANUARY 2025
21 – Washington, The National Anthem
24 – New York, Hammerstein Ballroom
25 – New York, Hammerstein Ballroom
28 – Los Angeles, Shrine Expo Hall
29 – Los Angeles, Shrine Expo Hall

FEBRUARY 2025
1 – Las Vegas, Chelsea at Cosmopolitan.
3 – San Francisco, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium

Malik is also set to play in the UK next month, with gigs in Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, London, Wolverhampton and Newcastle between 20 November and 3 December. These dates remain unaffected.

The singer performed his first solo show in London in May. After launching his solo career in 2016, he canceled what was supposed to be his debut appearance in June of that year, citing “the worst anxiety of my career.”

Paying tribute to Payne in the days following his death, Malik shared a joint statement with surviving One Direction members Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles in which they expressed their devastation and that they would need time to “grieve and process the loss of our brother whom we loved dearly.

Part of Malik’s tribute read: “Liam, I found myself speaking out loud to you, hoping you could hear me, I can’t help but selfishly think there are so many more conversations we need to have in our lives. “

In other news, Payne was found to have donated thousands of pounds to various GoFundMe pages in the month before his death.

A petition has also been launched calling for new legislation to protect the mental wellbeing of artists in the music industry in light of the Payne tragedy.
