“These Spanish mission homes have a certain character and charm, and unlike many Victorian terraces, they hug the garden,” she says.

To make the kitchen feel

The kitchen was completely redesigned with the former laundry, originally woven from the north side of the kitchen, moved to a bathroom.

Unlike most kitchens that have a bench on the central island, here is the main cooking bench and a secondary bench for the preparation of smaller dishes and for coffee. Both are finished with Kalakuta marble, with the windows of timber painted in a gorgeous dark tone of salmon.

And to make the kitchen feel “settled” rather than igniting new ones, Spinks included inspired by the 1920s.

“My parents were moving from a large family home, so it was important to have enough space for many things gathered throughout life,” said Spinx.

Spinks also showed its skills when it came to processing the main bedroom apartment located in front of the house. With the participation of a pale apple green walls and a plush eggplant carpet, it now includes a separate dressing area and a bathroom with a private bathroom – with part of the space borrowed from the corridor.

One of the exquisite design features is the balancing shower, which comes with a large stone bench on the sitting plate and a significant soul rises from above. Located 50 millimeters below the bedroom, the shower is ideal for a couple who does not want to enter and get out of the bath.

Spinks also showed a more surprised side of its design with a new guest dust room decorated with floral wallpapers, which has been challenging for the 20s.

“When it came to the changes, I wanted to admit the past, but also to move the design forward,” says Spinx, pointing to the new windows in the living area with its extended wooden inserts. “There is nothing more than trying to be Pastiche,” she adds.

The Dust house is still a significant home for a couple, about 250 square meters in the area. But unlike many repairs today, which tend to pull every inch into a new addition and sacrifice the garden, this is an example of this size is not always the way to go.

“People are quite cautious at the moment when it comes to repairs. There are certainly ways to increase the sense of space and light. Making less can create much more, “says Spinx.
