They have been taking numerous reports of attempted fraud in Wyoming County. Victims report that someone contacts them by phone and posing as a member of the Wyoming County Sheriff. The suspect claims that there are orders signed by the current employees of the victims’ arrest. The suspects then want “fines to be paid” to clear the warrants. They are very pressing to pay the fines immediately and threaten to come to places to work to make arrest. The suspects have very detailed information that seems legal. Please do not pay anyone money by phone or personally. All fines will be paid in court. Please contact the Wyoming County Sheriff’s office if you get something like that.
