Cheyenne, WY – Snowfall is expected to move into southeastern Wyoming tonight, bringing freezing temperatures and hazardous driving conditions across the region. The National Weather Service is predicting a 70 percent chance of snow overnight, with areas like Cheyenne and Laramie likely seeing accumulations of two inches or more.
According to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, snow will intensify after 5 a.m. Sunday and linger into the late morning. Wind chill values are expected to fall between -5 and -10 degrees, with winds out of the north at 10 to 15 mph. Drivers on I-80 should anticipate slick roads and reduced visibility, especially in the early morning hours. Residents are advised to limit travel if possible and dress in layers to protect against frostbite.
Looking ahead, conditions will improve Sunday afternoon as the snow tapers off. Highs will rise to 28C under mostly sunny skies, although wind chills will remain near freezing. By Monday, temperatures are expected to reach the low 40s, providing some relief from the bitter cold.
The five-day forecast calls for mostly clear and sunny skies Monday through midweek, with daytime highs hovering around 40 degrees. However, overnight lows will remain cold, dipping into the teens.
