WELCH, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Western Virginia Correction and Rehabilitation Department (WV DCR) has announced that the Stevens Correction Center (STCC), located in Welch, McDowell County, has returned to normal operations and regular levels of staff after wide Flooding.
To support efforts to relieve disasters, employees of violators and employees of WV DCR have assisted the McDowell County County Commission, cleaning supplies, landscaping tools and heating accessories. The crews have made several deliveries to the fire services.
“We are deeply grateful to the employees who have started supplying, collecting basic items such as bottled water and cleaning supplies for the needy. This initiative is a powerful reminder of kindness and solidarity that bind us in the face of adversity, “said Rob Keningham, secretary of the Western Virginia Homeland Security Division. “In addition, the joint efforts of the offender’s team and WV DCR employees to help help relieve disasters emphasize the spirit of unity and service that determine our community.”
The West Virginia Division of adjustments and rehabilitation employees has started propulsion of bottled water supplies and cleaning supplies, which will be delivered to the affected areas next week.
“The staff in the Western Virginia and Rehabilitation Correction Division has increased in a great way to provide the necessary donations to our neighbors in need,” said William Marshall, a WV DCR commissioner. “From our central office to the staff and work crew at the Stevens Correctional Center to the donation, it drives the Southern Regional Prison and Correctional and the Southwest Regional Prison and the Correctional Facilities and Facilities in the State Support our community. “
Persons interested in donating water and cleaning supplies can contact a regional prison and correctional facility by calling 304-256-6726. Donations are accepted until February 25 in the lobby of the facility. All supplies collected will be delivered to the National Guard’s arms in Welch on February 26th.
