Women’s tennis wins the fifth consecutive, Bests South Dakota and Sioux Falls – Northern Star Online

NIU Women’s Tennis (10-2) extended its winning series to five games on Friday, winning 4-3 against the University of South Dakota Coyoti (3-4) and 7-0 at the University of Siou Falls Kugas (1- 2).

Southern Dakota

The coyotes went up early, winning two games to hit Double Point.

The Huski junior Isabella Rigi and freshman Lucia Jecora cut 6-2 sets against South Dakota Grace Chadik and Bea Havlikov adults.

In her first loss as a duo, junior Jenna Horn and Senior Reagan Welch fell on Coyote Juniors Selena Bird and Anna Medvyedeva in the case of 6-4 defeat.

Senior Maria Jameshkevich and Jr. Natalie Ninova were locked in 4-4 sets against Sophomores Sorcha Caves and Amanda de Oliveira when the match was ruled unfinished.

The Huski took four single games to ensure the victory for a return.

Jameshkevich got a set against Oliveira, controlling 6-4, 6-1 sets.

Yekora beat Bird in the dominant 6-3, 6-2 sets.

After 6-3 first sets, Rigi took the second set 7-6 (7-2) against the freshman of Cootar Katarina Kurchic.

Ninova was the Huski clinic, defeating the caves in 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 sets.

NIU freshman Irmak Budak lost 6-3, 6-4 sets against Havlikova on the spot # 1 singles.

In 6-4, 7-5 sets, Husky freshman Teodora Kusiu lost her match against Chadik.

Sioux Falls

The Huski swept pairs of matches, retreating only 2 games in three games.

Ninova and Dzhemeshkevich won Seth 6-1 against the sophomore Chloe Sigfort and the freshman Sofia Janos.

Also in Seth 6-1, Rigi and Yekora beat Junor Sydney Falls Sydney Osborne and Ella Hankok.

Horn and Welch swept set with 6-0 against adult Emily Thin and Jalin Haller.

Huski won each single match in two sets, allowing their opponents to take no more than 3 games.

Budak beat Sigfort in the dominant 6-1, 6-2 sets.

Dzemeskevich controls his match against Janos by taking 6-1, 6-2 sets.

After sweeping the first set against Osborne, Ninova grew in 6-1 set to win.

Welch beat Hankok in 6-1, 6-2 sets.

Horn took straight 6-1, 6-1 sets against Thinnsen for the victory.

Sophomore Sydney Paradise has finished the Huskite vacation, exceeding Haler in 6-2, 6-1 sets.

Forward

The Husky is back in action at 10am at March 1 at Nelson Tennis Center at Chick Evans Field against Bradley University. At 15:00 the same day, NIU takes over Cornell University.
