Women’s Cross Country Captures CIAA Runner-Up – Winston-Salem State

SALEM, Va. – The Winston-Salem State University women’s cross country team concluded its season with a second-place finish at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Cross Country Championships on Thursday afternoon in Salem, Virginia.

The Rams finished overall with a total of 96 points. Fayetteville finished first with 28 points, and Lincoln rounded out the top three with a score of 113.

Elysia Bryant finished in the top ten for the Rams, placing tenth with a time of 20:05.8. Brianna Tillman finished 19th in 21:15.2 and right behind her was her teammate Jaya Nelson finished with a time of 21:18.6. Tinazia Davis finished 23rd with a time of 21:47.1 and Kayla Nobles came in 24th with a time of 22:02.5. Rain Shepard ran a time of 22:19.1 to finish 28th and Daijeon Lee ran in 24:13.5.

The Lady Rams were also recognized as the Women’s Top GPA Award winner for having a GPA above 3.5.
