SEC is nothing more than Buzzsaw this season, as the bigger part of the conference (nine of its 16 teams) is currently in the top 20 of Net Rankings.
However, this was not a problem for the ruling national champions. South Carolina is the only remaining unbeaten team on SEC PLAY, and recently Gamecocks have made the story in a rather unique way.
Five direct matches for the Dawn Staley team came against the ranked opponents (No. 5 Texas, No. 19 Alabama, No. 13 Oklahoma, No. 5 LSU and No. 18 Tennessee). South Carolina won all five.
They are the third team of 2000 to beat a ranked team in five straight matches, but they are the only one to make it entirely in the regular season.
Last year, Notre Dame did this in his last two games in a regular season and three games at the conference tournament. Uconn 2008-09 Huski reached the feat from 32 in the NCAA tournament.
South Carolina is also the only team in the group to win all five matches against teams ranked in the top 20 of the AP poll instead of the top 25.
It is a testament to the power of both South Carolina and the whole sec. But there is another SEC team worthy of exclusion: Vanderbilt.
After a losing series of three games at the beginning of the month threatened to send the Wandy season in the queue, the Komodors shook four straight, including ranked victories against Tennessee and Alabama.
On Thursday night in Florida, Michael Blex scored a record 53 points per SEC, most in Division I after a record game of 61 points of Iok Lee in 2022 and most of the freshman after the Elena Donne’s 54 points in 2010 .
Mikayla Blakes by Vanderbilt makes the SEC evaluation record with a game with a 53-point outburst in victory over Florida
Isabel Gonzalez
Blex is a tear of late, with 86 points in his last two games. But it is only one part of the only duet of a teammate in the country, every average at least 20 points per game. Khamil Pierre is the other, and the pair has Vanderbilt to No. 6 seeds.
No. 1 Seeds
*UCLA (20-0, 8-0 Big Ten): Net 4, SOS 42
Lauren Bets continued his ridiculously performing form with Career -tall 33 points In the case of a road victory against then, no. 8 Maryland, in which she missed only one shot from the pitch.
Ucla is confronted with only one opponent (Wisconsin), who is not foreseen to make the NCAA tournament, so Bruins will have to keep his leg on the gas to hold on to the whole seed # 1.
*South Carolina (20-1, 8-0 sec): Net 1, SOS 1
If it wasn’t for the loss of the head against Ucla, South Carolina would probably be # 1 as a whole with even the unbeaten Ucla record. With 10 wins Quad-1 (twice a total of UCLA), including four wins against the Net Top-10 teams, there is no one whose resumption is favorable to the Champs’.
It almost does not matter – with the way this team plays, it is difficult to see Gamecocks not to receive seed # 1 in one of the Birmingham regions.
USC (19-1, 9-0 Big Ten): Net 5, SOS 13
The Trojans removed a team from Minnesota, desperate for a quality win 82-69 on Thursday. GoPhers are the impressive 18-4 overall, but they are not mistaken-with a record of 1-4 against Quads 1 and 2, Minnesota is a bubble team.
USC goes on the journey this week against Iowa and Wisconsin, but it is the matches next week (against Ohio and Ucla State) should be circular in fans’ calendars.
*Notre Dame (18-2, 9-0 ACC): Net 6, SOS 5
Olivia Miles and Hannah Hidalgo share the cover of the largest issue of Slam magazine and for good reason. The Backcourt duo has destroyed Gameclans throughout the season, in a ton of about 42 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and almost six thefts per game.
No ACC opponent has yet found the solution. Clemson approached the best, losing only the Irish with nine points.
No. 2 seeds
Texas (21-2, 7-1 sec): Net 3, SOS 4
It was a more nervous week than Texas would like it. Longhorns needed 8-0 over the final 3:42 to win three points against Ole Miss and left Missouri with a whole 11 points before winning with nine points at home.
But at the end of the day the victories are wins. Texas travels to stand against a texas rival A&M before taking a section of South Carolina of four straight matches against ranked teams. One of them is a second meeting this season with these Gamecocks.
LSU (22-1, 7-1 sec): Net 9, SOS 62
107-100 on LSU Earn over Oklahoma On Thursday, he celebrated the first game in the history of the SEC conference, which two teams reached the sign of the century in regulation. 83 points came from only three tigers, and Michael Williams broke out for season 37.
With only one loss of their name, the Kim Burlucker team remains lurking if the few teams over them slip away.
*Uconn (20-2, 11-0 Big East): Net 2, SOS 32
The match in Creyton last Saturday was the most difficult test of the big East of Uconn on paper. As she tightened a little to the end, the Huskies passed the test without much difficulty, leading with a whole 20 points in a win of 11 points.
We are already less than a week since Uconn’s game in Tennessee, digging the two most baked teams of sports against each other. Connecticut runs the series for all time 17-9 and won four straight. Vols’s last victory in the series returned in 2007.
Ohio State (19-1, 8-1 large ten): Net 15, SOS 74
After a couple defeated Quad-1, the only Ohio State loss against Penn State looks more like a bad day than anything else.
Now with eight wins in Quads 1 and 2, BucKeyes are in a very safe position. Even with losses against UCLA and USC in the coming weeks, Ohio should not fall further than line # 3.

TCU (20-2, 8-1 Big 12): Net 10, SOS 61
Sedona Prince has recorded seven straight games with 20 points for the 20-pear TCU frogs. The team’s signature wins against Notre Dame and NC State continues to grow better and better for the Mark Campbell team, who has never received better than No. 6 seeds in the NCAA tournament, but is up to date, for to win a comfortable place for hosting.
Duke (17-4, 8-1 ACC): Net 8, SOS 3
All Duke’s four losses this season went into real road games, but the Blue Devils won 55-50 in a Georgia Tech ranked team on Sunday to put some of these concerns in bed.
Another passenger comes against NC State. However, few teams in the country are closing opponents like Duke right now, so it will be on Wolfpack to break against the lively protection against the Blue Devils.
*State Kansas (20-2, 8-1 large 12): Net 7, SOS 82
We asked a week ago if Kansas State could continue to roll without Iyok Lee. They responded with an upset loss in Colorado and needed overtime to take care of Iowa State. Both teams are currently in the last four B, so the split 1-1 is far from the worst result. But now we saw cracks in a well -oiled machine.
North Carolina (19-4, 7-3 ACC): Net 12, SOS 29
The loss of UNC from Florida scored the first of the Tar Heels season against an unprocessed team, but he expressed Seminoles to No. 25 in the AP poll this week and up No. 8 in the NCAA forecast.
North Carolina responded with victory in No. 19 in California to maintain her position on seeds # 3.

Kentucky (18-2, 7-1 sec): Net 20, SOS 66
With his victory against Alabama on Thursday, Kentucky took an important second Quad-1 victory to enhance the resumption of his NCAA tournament. Wildcats will have six more Quad-1 options for the rest of the regular season, including the South Carolina, Texas and LSU shots.
Each of these victories would be large -scale to help Kentucky stay in Lexington for the first weekend of March.
Maryland (17-4, 7-3 Big Ten): Net 24, SOS 7
There is no doubt that it is a difficult patch for the therapies that have passed from 14-0 to now 17-4. But each of these losses has occurred against a team that is currently designed as # 1 or No. 2 seeds in the NCAA tournament.
We have learned that Maryland is not in this elite group, but this is still a team with a very overall resumption and a healthy place in the next layer of programs.
Oklahoma state (18-3, 8-2 large 12): Net 27, SOS 78
Cowgirls are one of the big winners this week. Winning the Texas Tech and Arizona State will not make the tone to move the needle, but the Oklahoma state was the beneficiary of team losses such as Alabama, Oklahoma and California, making the path to seed # 4 in this update.
NC State (17-4, 9-1 ACC): Net 23, SOS 31
Monday Monday between NC State and Duke puts the ACC teams itself for one loss against each other. He is currently sitting on the second and third in the conference behind Notre Dame, it is not too early to think about sowing the conference tournament.
The NC State enters the match, winning 13 of their last 14 games. Wolfpack also won five of the last seven home matches against the Blue Devils.
