The school areas of the Wilmington region made plans before the potential winter weather conditions on Wednesday and Thursday.
Cold temperatures and rain are expected to reach the area by Wednesday morning with the potential for freezing rain and rainfall to accumulate on Wednesday night on Thursday.
Schools in New Hanover County
Schools in Hanover County will work on a two -hour delay on Thursday, according to a message posted in an X (Twitter) account in the area.
Due to the delay, Pre-K Centers in Johnson, Mosley, Early Childhood Center at Road College and Mary Washington How will be closed to students on Thursday.
Pre-K students in schools before K-5 in the Castle Hayne, Blair, Wrightsboro and Murrayville Eryry Schools will follow the same schedules as their primary schools.
Extracurricular activities for Wednesday are “still moving as it seems that time is expected late in the evening” according to the area.
Brunswick County Schools
Brunswick’s schools have announced that they will work on a regular schedule on Wednesday and a two -hour delay on Thursday.
After school activities, they will work on a regular schedule.
Pender district schools
In a news announcement on Tuesday, the schools of the County Pender announced that they would work on a remote training schedule on Thursday.
All activities after school, including the 21st century, steps and athletics, are canceled for Wednesday. Students will return to a regular schedule of persons on Friday.
In later release, the area said the Penderlea and Pender Early College school would use snowy days, so they would not have a school on Thursday.
