Winston-Salem Police charge three robbery-Winston-Salem Journal

Winston-Salem police have arrested three people, including a teenager, in separate unrelated armed robberies that happened Thursday and earlier in January, authorities said.

No injuries have been reported.

The last robbery happened shortly before 12:30 pm Thursday. Three people gave Tyle Duchaun Melton and Billy Lee Harel III to ride to his vehicle, which was in the parking lot of an apartment complex on 620 Anson St., police in Winston-Salem said.

Melton and Harel found three rifles in the vehicle where they were passengers, police said.

Melton and Harel have been accused of using one of these weapons to steal two guns from the three people, police said.

Then Melton and Harel left the scene in blue avoidance. Later, the officers found this vehicle in the 2600 block of Avenue Klaremont.

Melton and Harel were arrested after leaving an apartment and boarding the vehicle, police said. The officers also discovered a large amount of hawls marijuana and three guns in a nearby apartment.

The 20-year-old Melton of Clermont Avenue and the 17-year-old hood of Eastern Third Street have been charged with a robbery with a dangerous weapon and an attack, pointing a gun, police in Winston-Salem said.

Melton is also accused of possessing a firearm by a criminal, and Harel is also charged with possessing and delivering marijuana, police said. Harel was charged as an adult.

Melton was kept in Forsyte County Prison without a relationship, police said. Harel is being held at the Regional Center for Detention of Minors in Alexander in Tayrsville without allowing the bond.

In the other case, the 25 -year -old Delvin Hall Gipson of the Chathello Drive was arrested and accused of robbery in a dangerous weapon in connection with robbery that happened on January 19 at the Speedway gas station at 5434 University Parkway, police said.

Officers told police that an armed man had entered the business at 1:26 and demanded money and cigarettes from the gas station, police said.

The weapon then stole an undisclosed sum of money and cigarettes from Speedway and escaped from the scene aimed north at University Parkway, police said.

Gipson was detained in prison without being allowed, police said.
