Winston -Salem City systems are recovering after turning off cyber events – WXLV

Winston-Salem, NC-City leaders have announced that Winston-Salem’s billing and online services are working again after a cyber event forced exclusion over 45 days.

City authorities said the interruption began on January 26, when an unauthorized activity was opened on their network, which caused the suspension of urban links and services on websites.

The City Manager service confirmed the restoration of the services and stated that residents would receive letters with additional information. However, there are questions about how late fees and bills will be processed from January and February.

Winston-Salem Patrick Pate’s manager said earlier: “Since the systems come back online, we will make an edition to let you know when we come back online to hope to let you know what is happening.”

Despite the restoration, the city manager’s office has not yet provided answers on the payment terms or potential grace periods for residents. Many residents were not aware of the last update, according to interviews outside the camera.

The city promised to inform the public when more details became available.
