Wilmington police said they were investigating what was defined as a fatal attack on June 2024.
On June 13, 84-year-old Preston Hudson was found by officers who were in charge of a home-related attack on a 100 block of S. Hild St. Hudson was taken to the hospital in stable condition. Hudson died as a result of complications of treatment in August, police said.
In December, the Delueer Forensic Science Department ruled that Hudson’s death was the result of the attack, police said. The attack remains in the process of investigating and each with information is encouraged to contact Detective Brandon Mossley at (302) 576-3646 or Delaware Crime Stopers.
Wilmington police said the re -classification of the attack months after it happened was the result of the determination of the Ministry of Forensics, a consultation with the Delaway Ministry of Justice, additional investigative steps and family notifications.
