New Hanover County (WWAY) – As the Wilmington International Airport (ILM) continues to grow, the airline held an introductory flight celebration this afternoon.
Shortly after 5pm Thursday, Breeze Airways landed for the first time in ILM and will leave for Orlando, Florida. This is just one of the four trips that the airline expects to make Thursday and Friday.

The airline will have nonstop routes to Hartford, CT, Orlando, Fort Myers, Florida and Providence, Rod Island.
The airport had a special press conference that announced the new flight. This makes the 7th airline, which will be housed in ILM.
And to sweeten the deal, the airport gave a lucky passenger with a 15,000 breeze point equal to a value of $ 150.
Erin McNal, a marketing air service manager and public relations manager, says it’s an exciting time after having a record year of $ 3.3 million on the region.
“We are now ready to set more records a month after a month this year. So it’s wonderful. This really allows us to provide more choices, to have more airlines, to provide more selection to our travelers in addition to providing more choices, more non -accessible, more accessible tariffs, “McNames said.
Wilmington is Breeze’s third destination in North Carolina, including the cities of Raleigh-Durham and Newbern.
McNali continues to say that this first flight to Orlando is almost a complete flight. She expects many passengers to travel on this airline.
