Wilmington Fire Department is introducing new technology to help slowly spread home fires – Wect

Wilmington, NC (Wect) – A new device is introduced to help slow down or stop the spread of home fires with installed oxygen therapy systems.

The Wilmington Fire Service (WFD) will conduct a live demonstration of the small thermal device that costs $ 7. Known as an oxygen fire, the device excludes the constant oxygen flow in the event of a fire in the pipe.

“WFD hopes that all households and facilities that use home oxygen therapy are considering buying this cheap but potentially life -saving technology,” WFD wrote in a press release.

The demonstration is scheduled for Monday, February 17 at 10:30 am at WFD 5 Station.
