Deebo Samuel Sr. Officially doubtful vs. Dallas

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. (wrist, illness) is questionable for Sunday’s home tilt against the Dallas Cowboys. The 28-year-old had been dealing with a wrist problem for several weeks and he entered the team’s Week 7 without an assignment. However, at the end of the week, a bout with pneumonia knocked him out of the race after just four shots. He would end up being hospitalized with fluid in his lungs earlier this week, but he appears to have improved enough to be labeled questionable. Head coach Kyle Shanahan noted that they have taken it slow with the veteran, but his stamina is improving daily. San Francisco could certainly use their star wideout with teammate Jawan Jennings (hip) and the loss of Brandon Ayuk (knee) for the rest of the season. If Samuel Sr. can’t adjust, rookies WRs Ricky Pearsall and Jacob Cowing and sophomore receiver Ronnie Bell should see most of the snaps for the 49ers.
