Who has the best wings, burgers and fries in the Wilmington area, according to readers – Starnewsonline.com

The big game is on us. These are the heads of Kansas against Philadelphia Orly. Okay so we may disagree who will win, but we can all agree about one thing: nothing beats Super Bowl well.

To celebrate everything we love on the day of the game, we review our polls from readers where Starnews readers voted for their favorite wings, burgers and fries.

Wilmington’s No. 1 wings

First, Starnews’ Reader Food polls to find the best wings around. It started with a field of 30 contenders. And although there were several “writing” suggestions (for Barrio beer, Pizzeria Don Luca, the kitchen sink and Port City Cheesysteak), over 8,000 votes were filed for eating establishments in the cities of New Hanover, Brunswick and Pennder. Winner: Smokin ‘Jimmies Chicken & Seafood, at 2105 Carolina Beach Road, with more than 45% of the vote.

The most good burger in the city

As for burgers, PO I took it to the end zone to ask for a win. This restaurant has four seats in South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and one in Wrightsville Beach on the 212 Causeway Drive. They grind their own burgers in the house and name them based on Edgar Allen Poe’s works. For example, the black cat has bacon, drunk chilli and Pimeno cheese. And Annabel Lee adds a RabKek and Remaulad.

Top French potatoes in the city

Finally, Wilmington readers know what they want when it comes to fried potatoes. In our Reader Starnews poll, to find the local favorite, we have outlined a wide range of contenders from New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender. They all smelled of voices – but there was a clear winner. And it probably won’t surprise any fans of the fried in the area.

Out of a little more than 2500 votes, 64% went to the PT Olde fashion grille, which has seven seats in the area. Their closest competitor, Tavern at POE in Wrightsville Beach, was also the winner of the Starnews Burger poll. The poet received 20% of the vote until Fili divides J. Michael came to third place.
