When did Kiri Irving meet Luka Doncic’s trade in front of Lakers? Insider reveals details – Sportskeeda

The NBA community remained stunned after news emerged that Luca Doncic would unite with LeBron James and La Lakers. The blockbuster trade was confirmed on Saturday night and reports include the All-Star Center Anthony Davis, who goes otherwise.

Few could predict trade of this scale, and many experts were in the dark before the message. Even Dallas Maverix’s teammates of Doncic were not aware of what was happening behind the scenes. According to NBA Insider Ramona Shelbourne, Mavs All-Star Kyrie Erving was in Cleveland to work when he received the news.

“Kiri Irving was also amazed at the Luke-AD trade. They told me she was doing a workout in Cleveland when he saw the news appearing from @shamscharania,” writes Ramona Shelburn.

It has been almost two years since Kiri Irving moved to Dallas to form one of the most talented in the League with Luca Doncic. The two have built a close relationship over the last few years, sharing a strong relationship on and off the court.

Last season, Irving and Donchic helped direct Mavericks to 50 wins in the regular season. Guided by Dynamic Duo, Mavericks maneuvering through a difficult playoff that included La Clippers, Okc Thunder and Minnesota Timberwolves to direct Dallas to their first NBA finals in 14 years.

Moving to Southern California will partner with Doncic with LeBron James, one of the most emblematic players in NBA history. Lakers’ fans will be excited about the signing of one of the most gifted goalscorers of the game.

In the last few months, there have been concerns about Luka Doncic’s health. The Slovenian superstar has not been able to take the court since January 25, after suffering a left -wing strain. Donchic participated in only 22 of the 49 Mavericks this season.

However, Doncic’s restoration is progressing well. To Dallas reporter Maverix Noah Weber, Doncic notices firing at MAVs’ practices. The 25-year-old is expected to return before the All-Star break on February 16, which means he may be ready to go to Lakers’ home match against Utah Jazz on February 10th.
