No. 14 Texas A&M upset No. 8 LSU with a 38-23 come-from-behind victory Saturday at Kyle Field.
The Aggies struggled to get their offense going early, but once they switched to Marcell Reed at center, they came alive.
Reed rushed for three touchdowns on nine carries with 62 rushing yards and two completions for 70 yards to lead the Aggies to victory.
BJ Mayes had a pair of crucial interceptions that gave A&M great field position to capitalize on.
The Aggies are off to their best start in SEC play at 5-0 and are alone atop the conference standings in coach Mike Elko’s first season.

“Well, welcome to the Mike Elko era. This is a new Texas A&M. The Aggies pivoted when LSU least expected it, inserting backup quarterback Marcell Reed to provide a running threat and scoring four straight touchdowns. The defense made the LSU offense completely one-dimensional and forced three interceptions to ice the game.” (CBS Sports)
Texas A&M bows out at LSU with win in SEC sweep as Garrett Nussmeier’s Heisman hopes slip away (USA Today)
“Nussmeier, who entered Saturday night’s game in College Station with six picks on the season, made some rash decisions in the third quarter and threw three interceptions, the first two to B.J. Mays and the third to linebacker Taurian York, setting up Texas A&M in short field positions all three times.’
