Construction crews have undressed the facade of the former Steak ‘N Shake Restaurant restaurant in southern Renault, which has been closed for two years. Which raises the question, what new business enters the batch of the southern meadows?
The answer is Starbucks, according to two permits approved by the city of Renault.
The permits for buildings obtained from the city in January and February have requested approval to operate electrical and fire services, including the installation of a trade fire alarm and sprinklers. The new tenant, listed in both applications, was Starbucks.
Currently, both permits are listed by the city of Renault as active.
For the first time open in 2017, the former Steak ‘N Shake in South Renault was one of the two places in Renault. The location of North Hills Blvd 1140 closed during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2022. The southern Renault Reno ‘N Shake followed a suit and closed in early 2023.

Founded in 1934 in Normal, Ill., Steak ‘N Shake is a fast-paced restaurant, best known for its steckburgers and hand-cut milk shakes. The restaurant has approximately 400 seats in the United States with the majority located in the Midwest and the southern United States.
