Happy Monday! Megan here.
Cool thing: Four years ago, I sent the first edition of Sioux Falls for simplified.
So today I celebrate and think – but I am too Looking to the future And what it will take to keep this small new outcome-this could be about four (or even 40) years.
Big wins so far:
- More than 1500 stories published,
- Service of 5000 weekly subscribers by email,
- Set up a prize -groomed welcome guide,
- Provided thousands of dollars in nature sponsored content for non -profit organizations,
- He raised $ 5,000 for a trip to hope in our opening campaign “Little Help” (will soon come who will be a beneficiary this year!)
- He worked with exclusively companies based at the Sioux Falls area in advertising partnerships.
Big targets for this year:
I certainly have business goals Reach more people and sell more ads to continue working for financial sustainability.
But really, more importantly, My main goal this year is to improve the civil health of Sioux Falls.
- Civil health refers to how people participate in their community – more consistently the extent to which they have access to information and the ability to take action through things such as voting, volunteering and to work together to solve community problems.
This seems to me like that Guarantee that everyone has access to information About how different government formations of SIU Falls work, the ways in which the average citizen can participate in local democracy and organize basic and simply general knowledge of what is happening in our community.
How – and why – to help:
It’s no secret that the news industry is … we’ll say, it’s complicated. No one is really “hacked” by the local business model of news and while I am personally happy to say that I am still here four years later, the truth is that things are going a lot of damn here.
Thing is, Sioux Falls Simplecided is not a COG in some large corporate machine. We have no national non -profit purpose that supports us.
- We too Don’t limit who can read our content Hiding it behind the paid ones. This returns to all “civil health” and “desire to live in a community where people have fair access to information that can help them shape the world they want to live in.”
- Adding, as always, the warning that free reading local news is not free to produce.
You really are just you. You are what makes this newsletter possible.
So, is it worth $ 15 a month to surround yourself with people who work to improve the community? Does it cost $ 5?
And, hey, I understand that the monthly/year commitment can be discouraging. If you just want to say, “I like what you do, keep doing it,” you can also make a one -off contribution to Sioux Falls simplified.
To those who already buy, thank you. Seriously, I couldn’t do it without you.
And no matter that, I’m glad you are here. It’s cool that you support local news.
All the best,
Megan
