WF Girls take a road win in Iola – News at Waupaca County

Outside the night, their leading goal scorer did not prevent the Weyauwega-Fremont girls’ basketball team from taking their sixth victory in Central Wisconsin East.

Olivia Vitkovski entered the Warhawks rematch on February 1st against Yola-Skandinavia, average just over 20 points per game. Vitkovski was detained up to six points, all of her points in the first half.

Other players, however, lifted the groin, and Warhawks headed home with a 44-33 victory.

Warhawks seemed to make their way with Thunderbirds, as Weyauwega-Fremont built a 13-1 lead in the first half. Yola-Skandinavia reduced the lead to seven points twice and left 28-19 at the half.

Thunderbirds opened the second half with another baskets that reduced the lead to 28-23 but never approached.

Weyauwega-Fremont led 14 points in the second half.
Avery Samz and Elizabeth Koplen led Warhawks with 15 and 13 points respectively.

McKenzie Bonikovke led Thunderbirds with eight points.
