Western Virginia seeing an attack in influenza – WCHS

Health officials said West Virginia had observed cases of flu since the end of January.

According to the respiratory disease of the Western Virginia of the Ministry of Health, the flu outbreaks in the state increase from 12 to 23 in the first week of February, the largest number in nearly a year.

A spokesman said that the percentage of people seeking care for flu -like symptoms in emergency wards and service services has increased to over 5% of total visits over the past week.

Health officials recommend annual flu vaccinations for all 6 months or more. Adults at 60 years of age or older should consult their healthcare provider regarding RSV vaccinations.

Other preventive measures against influenza include adequate washing your hands, covering your mouth and nose with tissue or elbow when you cough or sneeze and stay home when ill.
