Western Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisi announced on Tuesday that about five dozen people had been detained within a day after the cooperation between Charleston and the federal immigration authorities were ordered.
By noon on Tuesday, 58 people in Mountain State were detained in the regional prison system in anticipation of a check on their immigration status.
More detainees are probably upcoming, Morrisi said, as he repeatedly promised his full support for the illegal immigration repression of President Donald Trump.

Huntington police chief Phil Watkins said some of his officers have also provided support for the latest DVC operations in the second largest city of Western Virginia.

“As a general practice, we are always trying to accommodate requests for help from one of our law enforcement partners,” he told a CBS branch of Wheeling.
The Ministry of Correction and Rehabilitation has confirmed in a statement that it is detaining suspected illegal immigrant criminals in its facilities at the insistence of federal agencies such as ICE and FBI.
