Charleston, WV – Heavy rain continues in West Virginia, causing concerns about the flood by increasing the rivers. The floods remain in force, especially in the mountainous regions and northeastern Western Virginia.
According to the National Meteorological Service, the rain will continue until Friday before narrowing overnight. Flood warnings have been issued for parts of the Yagger River Valley due to the outflow of rainfall and melting of snow.
The combination of rainfall and snowfall can lead to dangerous conditions, especially in low -spaced areas. Up to 1.5 inches, rain is expected in southeastern Ohio, northeast Kentucky and West Western Virginia.
The drier weather is predicted for the weekend, but flood fears will continue until Saturday night. The rivers will continue to rise as the water ducts from the affected areas. Residents must be on the alert for updates and prepare for a potential flood.
Emergency staff urge people to avoid flooded roads and monitor changing conditions. If a flood occurs, move to a higher place immediately.
