Just days after City of Lubbock health officials confirmed a positive case from Gaines County, South Public Health confirmed another case.

SPPHD is the public health subject serving Gaines, Yoakum, Gaines and Terry County and works to confirm the first case with Lubbock public health.

However, spphd announced a second confirmed case in Gaines County days later.

“Both cases are in unvaccinated school -age children who have been hospitalized in Lubbock and have been written ever since,” SPPD said.

SPPHD has called on people who think they have measles or may have been exposed to measles of isolates and call their healthcare provider before they arrive to be tested.
