West Valley auto-pedestrian fatality likely to snarl rush hour traffic – Las Vegas Review-Journal

Police are investigating a fatal car crash involving a pedestrian that shut down parts of a major west valley interchange shortly before rush hour.

The crash happened just before 1 p.m. near North Decatur Boulevard and Interstate 11 (US 95), according to a Nevada State Police X post.

A female pedestrian was confirmed dead at the scene, while the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and was cooperating with investigators, police said.

Decatur Boulevard was closed in both directions on I-11 and the northbound ramp was closed, police said, adding that they were likely to be closed for hours.

Police asked motorists to use alternate routes and avoid the area.
