NBA superstar Kiri Irving said he wanted to play for Australia.
Erving, nine-time NBA All-Star, was born in Melbourne while his father Draderik played for Bulleen Boomers.
Dallas Maverix’s guard was part of the United States team that won gold at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
But Irving made it clear that he now wanted to change the camps and join the boomers, revealing to the All-Star event reporters in San Francisco that the ball is already rolling.
“We are currently in the process, we’re just trying to understand the best route to be eligible,” Irving said.
“There are many documents between this. Obviously, Team USa still has the decision to make.
“I’m just trying to do what’s best for me. Honestly, if I could be Aussie at one point in my career and play for the Australian team, that would be great. “

Australia Basketball, USA Basketball and Guard Bodil Fiba will have to give up movement.
Getting access to a player like Irving, who signed a three -year deal with MAVS in 2023 in 2023, would be a huge bonus for boomers.
Irving will be 36 years old when Los Angeles hosted the 2028 Olympics, with young weapons Dyson Daniels and Josh Gigi will probably enter this tournament.
Irving, election # 1 in the 2011 draft, won the NBA title for 2016 together with Australian Matthew Delavedova in Cleveland.
