Website for foreign assistance in the US exceeds offline in Trump Administration – Irvine Times

The Democrats of Congress have been fighting the Trump administration increasingly openly, expressing the concern that the president can be focused on terminating USAID as an independent agency and absorb him in the State Department.

Democrats claim that G -N Trump has no legal authority to eliminate an independent congress -funded agency and that USAID work is vital to national security.

The Trump and Congress Republicans say that a large part of foreign care and development programs are wasteful, separating those they say can develop liberal social programs.

The fear of even more administrative actions against USAID comes two weeks after the stopping of the billions of dollars from the humanitarian, the development and assistance of the security of the United States.

The United States is the largest donor of humanitarian aid in the world, but it spends less than 1% of its budget for foreign assistance, less share in general than some other countries.

The administration staff had no comment on Saturday when asked about the fears expressed by legislators and others that G -N Trump could plan to terminate the individual USAID status.

President John F Kennedy created the organization in the midst of the Cold War to counteract Soviet influence. Today, USAID is the center of American challenges facing the growing influence of China, which has its own foreign care program.

The Congress adopted the Foreign Aid Act in 1961 and the Kennedy signed this law and an enforcement order establishing USAID as an independent agency.

USAID employees spent Friday and Saturday in chat groups, watching their fate, providing updates on whether the agency’s flag and the signs are still outside the agency’s headquarters in Washington.

In a publication by the X Democratic Senator Chris Murphy said the presidents could not remove the congress, the federal agencies were appropriated and said Trump was ready to “double the constitutional crisis.”

“It is that the despot – who wants to steal taxpayers’ money to enrich his billionaire Kabbal – is right,” said Murphy.

Billiona Elon Musk, advising G -N Trump in a federal government campaign in the name of efficiency, approves publications on his X site calling for USAID dissolving.

“Live in an executive order, die in an executive order,” Musk twists in connection with USAID.

Mr Trump put an unprecedented 90-day freezing of foreign assistance on his first day of service on January 20.

The order, stricter than the expected interpretation of Mr. Trump’s freezing order on January 24, prepared by Peter Morocco, returning politically appointed by Mr Trump’s first term, closed thousands Many thousands.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has since moved to preserve more species of strictly life -saving emergency programs during freezing.

Help groups say the confusion of what kind of programs are still allowed to work, contributes to paralysis in global assistance organizations.

D -n Rubio, in his first public comments on the subject, said on Thursday that USAID programs are being inspected to eliminate anyone who is not in the US national interest, but he said nothing about removing it as Agency.

The exclusion of US-funded programs during the 90-day review meant that the US “receives much more cooperation” than the recipients of humanitarian, development and security assistance, said Mr. Rubio.

Republicans and Democrats have long been fighting the agency, arguing whether humanitarian aid and development aid protects the United States by helping to stabilize partnerships and economies or is a loss of money.

Republicans usually insist on giving the state more control over USAID policy and funds. Democrats usually build autonomy and USAID authority.

The version of this battle took place during the first term of G -N Trump when he tried to reduce the budget for foreign operations by a third.

When the Congress refused, the Trump administration uses frosts and other tactics to reduce the flow of funds that have already been appropriated by the congress for foreign programs.

Later, the General Accounting Service has ruled that it violates a law known as the Retention Act.
