LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Webb County voters now have the option to vote from their car, but only under certain conditions. According to the Webb County Elections Office, street voting is available to those 65 or older or at risk of falling. Designated precincts at each polling place will contain a telephone number for eligible voters to call upon arrival.
Elections Administrator Jose Luis Castillo emphasizes that street voting maintains the same privacy standards as booth voting. “If the vehicle is full, we will ask everyone to get out to allow the voters to go private. Please understand the process and be patient,” Castillo added.
Castillo also urged the public not to abuse street voting, noting that it is a time-consuming process due to the verification steps required.
