We are all made “B’Tzelem Elokim” (in the image of the divine) – Jewish news about the great Phoenix

On February 11, 2025, the Scotsdale Municipal Council guaranteed that we remain a place where each resident and employee is judged by their individual nature, not by dividing policies that promote the identity of the group.

Our decision to cancel the frankly political diversity, justice and the inclusion of the city of the city does not stop the celebration of the rich diversity of Scottsdale, nor did it touch decisive constitutional non -discriminatory defenses.

Tempers flashed and a lot of ink spilled, creating a story designed to scare the Arizons. Those who promulgated abuses separated the only observation Jewish member of the Council, regardless of his 5-2, voting for super-mastery, casually referring to Nazi Germany for a solution that solidifies the content of the skin over the skin color and enhance equal justice under the law. S (No other council members have received such criticism or need a police companion to their vehicles after the meeting.)

It’s time for the truth. There was a complete list of diversity service in Scottsdale and how it was affected by the new ordinance (in the brackets):

• Supervision of ADA’s transition and self -assessment plan (not affected)

• Facilitating the ADA City Link Group that collaborates to share the best practices and address ADA’s complaints and concerns in different areas (not affected)

• American with Disability and Compliance Act with Title VI and annual reporting (not affected)

• Investigation of complaints and imposing the Ordinance to combat the city’s discrimination (not affected)

• Providing administrative staff to the Human Relations Commission (Commission remains intact)

• The management of the Advisory Committee on the variety of employees (the consultation for the diversity of employees will come from HR)

• Supervision of employee resource groups (employee resource will come from HR)

• Providing voluntary training based on topics focused on the inclusion and respect of all people (employee resources will come from HR)

• Leading/coordinating cultural celebrations and events within the organization and community (cultural celebrations/holidays, such as MLK Day, Black History and June Month, will not be affected while programs such as “Scotsdale all the time” affecting children of the children 0 -5, the promotion of radical intersectionism will be cut off)

• Professional development of city employees in the form of professional memberships, conferences/training and participation in Community events (bureaucratic contours for feedback decrease)

• Coordinate Prize Prizes for Disabled Persons (not affected)

This is not the Nazi ingestion of Scottsdale.

Scotsdale has always been and will continue to be a welcoming and inclusive city-not because of the top down, politicized mandates, unnecessary staff training or bureaucratically excessive, and because of the nature of its inhabitants.

Before the meeting, I tried to gather Mincha (afternoon prayer) a mini -Anyan of those present at the Jewish meeting of the whole political spectrum to promote Jewish unity in separation political times. The answer I received from a prominent local rabbi was: “The Day is my Minica.”

Attitudes such as this lead only to a further division. Politics, whether conservative or progressive can determine us. We are GD people. Regardless of our policy, we are “I am”. At the end of the day, our mantra can neither be “Mag” nor “resistance”, but rather “Kiddush Hashem”.

The voters have predominantly chose a new majority to lead the city of Scottsdale in a new direction. I was humble to put the first of all candidates who run into the November general elections, and I intend to keep my promises to reduce homelessness, promote public safety and accept a transparent and responsible government that respects the individual, regardless of their race, Benju, gender or preference.

As your city advisor, I will always fight discrimination, unite people and maintain the principles of equality and justice. These are American values. These are the values of the fertilizer. Jn

Adam Quabman is the first Orthodox Jew to be elected to the Scotsdale Municipal Council.
