Wayne County County Save a Dog from Ice Water: Police – Patch

Trenton, Mi – Wayne County’s employees saved an ice -water dog on Monday afternoon, according to police.

Officers received reports at 5:30 pm on Monday that a dog had been trapped in ice water after falling through the ice in the Elizabeth Park, which is near the Detroit River in the Fort Street and West Road area Trenton, according to police.

Trenton CPL police. Bond and officer Bedasun jumped into the ice water, tearing areas of ice as they coordinated the efforts of shallow water, according to police.

After a tense and physically demanding operation, the dog is safely brought ashore and reunited with its owner, according to police.

The Deputy Chief of Neaz from the Trenton Police Department praised the employees who saved the dog.

“Their quick thinking, teamwork and willingness to cause harm to embody the very essence of public service. Thanks for their courage, life was saved today,” he said.

Officials have called on anyone who sees a person or animal for a disaster in the freezing of the water, call 911 and avoid being at risk by trying to save.
