Water main break prompts evacuations in Lemmon Valley – KOLO

RENO, Nevada (KOLO) – Update at 8:46 a.m.: Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue says around 7:00 a.m. crews responded to a 36-inch water main break in Lemmon Valley that flooded the Matterhorn Boulevard and Chesapeake Drive neighborhood.

No damage to nearby houses.

Update at 8:20am: The Washoe County School District says there will be no impact to Lemmon Valley schools as a result of the flooding.

The outage occurred early Thursday morning and was announced by Washoe County around 7:30 a.m. on their Twitter account.

The evacuation zone area is from Heartpine Street to Lemmon Drive.
