The Senior Advisory Board of the Washoe County Human Service Agency (HSA) hosts the Senior Volunteer Fair.
The fair will be held on Tuesday, January 28, from 10am to 12pm.
The fair will include several opportunities for people in our community to come and help our most vulnerable elderly people in need. The fair will be held in Museum of National Automobile At 1 Museum driving in Renault.
HSA says volunteering has many benefits for those who help them, and those who help them voluntarily deal with their time. Everyone can meet and make new friends, learn valuable skills and progress in their career; The biggest benefit is to be able to help someone live a more happiness and healthier life.
Several local organizations participate in the Senior Volunteer Fair, including senior services of Washoe County, Nevada Humane Society, Neighboring North of Nevada North, Elderly, Reno Food Systems, National Automobile Museum, Casa, Casa Nevada, Parkinson’s Support Center, North Nevada Support Center, Domestic Violence Resources Center, Awaken, Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity, Red Cross, Services Note-Busic Therapy, Aarp Nevad, access to health, access to health, Aging, court appointed special defenders, Reno Little Theater, Sanford Center, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Guest House and Washoe County Certificate.
Organizers are actively looking for the elderly or anyone who wants to volunteer their time and say that there are several ways that the volunteer can help the elderly in our community in need, such as becoming a foster grandparents or sister of Big’s grandfather or sister Brother, serving on a hot line or as AAA peers advisor, delivering dishes to the elderly, helps to build homes at affordable prices, support in community gardens, support the arts and/or is a satellite of a home senior.
