Washington University names Robert J. Jones as a new president – Mynorthwest

The University of Washington (UW) announced on Monday that the Regent Council has selected Robert J. Jones, who is currently completing a nine-year term as Chancellor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Sharpain, as the 34th president of the university.

Jones’ five -year contract will start on August 1st.

This will be Jones’ third time, which will run the University of Public Research, a statement from the United States UW. In addition to his role at the University of Illinois, Jones was president at the University of Albani in New York.

“He is a prominent scientist, with his studies focusing on the physiology of cultures and leader in national academic organizations and the Big Ten conference,” the university statement said.
