Washington State MBB Drop fifth consecutive game with Oregon State Defeat – Sports Illustrated

Desperately needed to win after four straight losses, things again did not go to the state of Washington at 82-74 loss in Oregon.

The state of Washington led for the first 10:66 of the game and ended the first half with one point 37-36. Both teams fired 50% of the floor in the first half (WSU: 15-30, OSU: 11-22). Something that prevented the couges from not further back in the first half: fouls. WSU was summoned for 12 fouls in the first 20 minutes, while the beavers were called for only four.

In the second half, the curls looked as if they would let Oregon step back, but gradually closed the precipice of the Beats’ lead, which made him a game with one point with four minutes. However, WSU failed to restore their own lead, which allowed Oregon State to secure its tenth consecutive home victory. Downloading two points with 2:45, WSU went 0-5 from the pitch to this last section, while OSU hit one goal in the field and four free throws to expand the margin of victory.

Nate Calsez was the leading goalkeeper of the game with 25 points, making 11 out of 17 shots from the floor and two for four of the free throw line.

Dane Ericstrup fouled as five other cougities finished with three personal fouls or more. WSU ended with 29 personal fouls (high season), which caused OSU to make 30 of 38 free throws, one made shy of the Beavers season. All the time, WSU turned the ball low five times.

David Riley’s team falls 15-10 in the season, with 5-7 recording in WCC Play. WSU returns home on Saturday, hosting Pepperdine at 3:00 pm at Beasley Coliseum.
