Vote now for Champion Chevrolet Athlete of Week for February 3-9 – Reno Gazette Journal

These are the nominees of February 3-9 for the championship athlete of the Champion Week Chevrolet RGJ, who recognizes the best performances among the athletes from the high school in North Nevada. Tanner Bowers, Senior, Spanish Springs

Bowers scored 12 points, there were five rebounds and four assists, without turnover, as the cougities beat Reed, 67-38, in the Boys Basketball on February 7th. The Spanish Springs remained unbeaten in the league game at 16-0 and are the best seeds for The 4A-North regional tournament this week.

Veo dizon, sophomore, bishop manogue

Dizon added 12 points, four assists and three thefts in the miners ’88-39 victory over Carson in the boys’ basketball on February 4th.

Sheldon Jacobson, Jr., Ferley

Jacobson Scored 22 Points, Had Nine Rebounds, Five Assists and Six Steals in the Vaqueros 54-51 in Over Fallon in Boys Boyketball on Feb. 7. HE HAD 16 Points, Six Rebounds and Eight Assists in A 62-40 WIN Over Low Low on February 5.

Tiden Francis, Senior, Spring Creek

Francis scored nine points and had 14 struggles to win 38-35 over Elko in the boys’ basketball on February 5th.

Zac Stanko, Junior, Damonte Ranch

Stanko struck the basket in the game in the final seconds to raise the mustangs over Douglas 54-41 in a basketball for boys on February 4th. Damonte is # 2 seeds for regional playoffs this week.

Kalin Anderson, a sophomore, Falon

Anderson scored 21 points and had five rebounds in a 53-52 victory over Dayton in Boy Boys Basketball on February 5th.

Oscar Mendos, Senior, South Taho

Mendoza scored 17 points, had six rebounds, three assists and six thefts in the Viking victory by 69-33 over Truki in the boys’ basketball on February 5th. He scored 14 points in a 72-36 win over Sparks on February 7th.

Mackenzie Chase, sophomore, Spanish sources

Chase scored 14 points and had six assists and four thefts in the Cugars of 62-26 over McQueen in the girls’ basketball on February 4th. Cugars are the best seeds for the 4A-north class regional tournament.

Mya Ghisletta. Junior, Damonte Ranch

Ghisletta scored 19 points and grabbed seven fights in the victory of the Mustangs 47-40 over Galena in the girls’ basketball on February 7th.

Sam Toloti, Jr., Bishop Manog

Toloti scored 15 points, there were seven thefts, three assists and four fights in the miners ’46-42 victory over Carson in the girls’ basketball on February 4th.

Frosty walker, junior, McQueen

Walker won the boys’ ski race on February 7th at Sky Tavern with a time of 1 minute, 24.8 seconds through his two tracks.

Stella Dallas, freshman, Renault

Dallas won the girls’ ski competition on February 7th at Sky Tavern with a time of 1: 36.3 above their two tracks.

State ski races are scheduled for Wednesday (slalom) and Thursday (GS), both in Sky Tavern.
