Several Birmingham-area football teams wrapped up their regular seasons in Week 10 last week, while others have one more game before the state playoffs begin.

Twelve standout performances made the Hollis Wright Birmingham Player of the Week for Week 10.

Week 10 Nominees:

Corey Barber, Spain Park. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound junior wide receiver caught 10 passes for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 37-6 win over Chilton County as the fourth-ranked Jaguars improved their record to 9-0 overall and the Class 6A, Region 3 best good grade 6-0. Spain Park closes the regular season at Gardendale on Friday.

Caleb Carson Homewood. The 5-11, 165-pound Carson, who normally plays wide receiver, filled in at quarterback for injured starter Will Myers and scored on runs of 3 and 49 yards and threw an 11-yard touchdown pass as the Patriots routed Maluck 41-0 on Thursday . Homewood (7-2, 5-1 and the second seed in Class 6A, Region 5) closes the regular season at home Friday against 7A James Clemens.

Keaton Coffee, corner. The sophomore threw 3 of his 4 touchdown passes as the Yellow Jackets rallied from a 30-7 deficit to beat Carver 31-30 on Friday. Coffee had punts of 20, 22, 24 and 24 yards and completed 12 of 17 throws for 188 yards. He also had 13 carries for 60 yards. No. 7 Corner swept Class 5A, Region 5 with the win and is 8-1, 5-1 on the year. The Jackets host Springville to close out the regular season.

Cason Fields, Vincent. The senior quarterback ran for 125 yards with a pair of touchdowns and completed 8 of 18 passes for 90 yards as the Yellow Jackets fell 32-24 at Greene County. Vincent, the second seed in Class 2A, Region 5 at 7-2, 4-2, will host Montevallo to close out the regular season.

Caleb Freeman, Pleasant Grove. The sophomore threw for 280 yards and 4 touchdowns as the Spartans won the Class 4A, Region 4 championship with a 35-14 victory at Bibb County. Freeman’s TD passes were for 6, 33, 11 and 11 yards to four different receivers.

Aaron Martin, midfielder. The junior quarterback completed 22 of 27 passes for 317 yards and 2 touchdowns as the Patriots won their fourth straight to finish at 5-4 and 4-3 in Class 3A, Region 5 with a 62-6 victory over Oakman on Thursday. Martin also had a punt return 97 yards for a touchdown.

Justin Murray, Fairfield. The 5-10, 180-pound junior ran for 264 yards on 17 carries with 3 touchdowns in a 35-27 loss at Oak Grove on Thursday. On four straight runs in the second half, he gained 201 yards – and all of his TDs on hits of 50, 91 and 60 yards.

AJ Robinson, Hueytown. The Class 6A, Region 4 No. 1 seed, the Gophers got 232 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns from Robinson, a 5-8, 170-pound junior, last week. He also had a pair of catches for another 20 yards in a 28-17 win at Central-Tuscaloosa. The Gophers (6-3, 6-0) close the regular season at Pinson Valley on Friday.

Dom Santiago, Elena. The junior running back rolled up 295 all-purpose yards as the Huskies beat Class 6A, Region 3 rival Calera 49-21 on Friday. Santiago ran for 251 yards and 4 touchdowns on 13 carries, caught 2 passes for 19 yards and a TD and had a 25-yard punt return for 6-3 Helena. The Huskies won the second seed by a score of 5-1 and will host a playoff game on November 8th.

Trent Seaborn, Thompson. The sophomore standout was 22 of 32 passing for 368 yards and 5 touchdowns as the Warriors finished their regular season 7-3 overall and 6-1 in Class 7A, Region 3. Seaborn’s third regular season as a starter at Thompson ended with 1935 yards in the air, 18 passing touchdowns with 6 interceptions. He completed 62 percent of his throws.

Robert Taylor, Parker. The 6-1, 200-pound sophomore defensive tackle had 6 tackles in a 64-0 win over Woodlawn on Thursday – 4 of them sacks. The second-ranked Thundering Herd finished the regular season 9-1 and ranked No. 1 in Class 6A, Region 5 with a 6-0 record. Parker will host a first-round playoff game next week.

Braxton Yocom, Oak Grove. The senior running back had 144 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown and scored another TD on a 46-yard pass reception as the Tigers beat Fairfield 35-27 on Thursday. Oak Grove carries a 7-2 record into the regular season finale at Hanceville on Friday. The Tigers finished 5-2 in Class 4A, Region 4.
