Virginia Marie Cox, 82, from Metamora, died peacefully at home on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Ja Cox was born in Ferndale on December 1, 1942, about the art of parents and Virginia Kiddell.

D -Ja Cox spent many years teaching, instructing and mentoring children throughout Michigan. She began teaching Ferdale Primary School for about 14 years, and continued to be an art instructor in the school neighborhood for another 20. She met with her husband Larry Cox, who spent nearly 60 years, married, in an art class at University Central Michigan. They were both artists and loved to travel to places like China and Mexico to go to art galleries.

In her free time you will find Mrs. Cox to read a book, making Food or playing with her dogs. After retiring in 1999, she spent about five years making a children’s program at the Lapeer County Library by reading books and teaching crafts. Next to the Covid-19 pandemic, she would take therapeutic dogs to local schools and let children play with puppies, and also made it a plan for crafts and mentoring lessons. She always made the ability to do more than what was required! She approached her life with kind behavior and focused on how she treated people with care and respect.

He survives from her husband Larry, as well as many beloved nephews and nephews. Mrs. Cox is preceded by death by her aforementioned parents.

The Cremation of D -Ja Cox is entrusted to the funeral home of the Muir brothers, Lapeire. No services are scheduled.
