Senator Tim Kane says he will insist on a thorough investigation into what has led to a deadly disaster.
Washington, Colombia County, USA – Virginia leaders respond after a clash between a military helicopter and a flight to American Airlines, brought both flights to the Potomak River.
Chief Glen Youngkin says he was informed by the State Emergency Management Team and Virginia’s state police. On Thursday morning, authorities said they did not believe that someone had survived the crash.
Sixty passengers and four crew members were aboard the American Airlines Flight 5342, and the Black Hawk military helicopter wore three members of the service. The aircraft headed to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport from Wichita, Kansas.
The first responding from North Virginia, Washington, Colombia and Maryland responded to the crash near the Reagan National Airport on Wednesday night, Youngkin said.
Officials have already switched to recovery efforts.
“We pray in prayer the families of passengers and crews,” Youngkin said on Twitter. “The [National Transportation and Safety Board] He is the investigation with our full cooperation and support. “
American Airlines canceled all flights to Washington, Colombia, from Norfolk International Airport. DC impact flights are redirected to Richmond.

Senator Tim Kane said he was “broken from the heart” for the disaster as he continues to pray for the affected and the first answers.
“I collect more information from local employees, FAA and the army and I will insist on a thorough investigation into the incident,” Kane wrote.
Senator Mark Warner stood with Kane during a press conference on Thursday morning, led by DC employees and first response.
“Our hearts are deeply crashed for the victims of the tragic incident in DCA,” Warner wrote to X. “We are filled with endless gratitude for the first reacting.”
