Virginia Gladys Skyf
Virginia Gladis Sky was born on July 6, 1934 in Senoa, Georgia, Claude Turner, Senior and Jenny Lee Dixon Turner.
She is a graduate of 1954 at Howard High School. Virginia had a great love for learning and was an avid reader. It was important for her to attend college; With her support and encouragement, they did it.
She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age in hay. After moving to Chattanuga, TN as a teenager, she joined a new monumental Baptist church. She was a loyal member of the church (more than 70 years) until her health prevented her personally. She was a member of Evergreen Club and a dedicated member of the USher board.
Virginia was a former employee of the US pipe, the Cavalier corporation and retired from Parkridge Hospital. For many years, in the center of Carver, she was an electoral worker in Hamilton County. She thought it was an honor to help people exercise their right to vote.
She was known for her love for the friends of her children and grandchildren and their love and respect for her.
She was preceded by death by her parents; brother, Claude, junior; Aunt, Irene Crawford; And a favorite nephew, Jeffrey Turner.
On Thursday, January 16, 2025, Virginia died surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her favorite memories to be valued by her dedicated children Kenneth (Celeste), Linda (Greg) and Eric; she ”second girl“, Erika; Bonus daughter, Barbara; Covenant grandchildren, Carla, Erin and Eric, Jr.; great -grandson, Ezra; sister/best friend, Ruby trailer; Beloved nephew, Kevin; niece, kitten; Dear friends, Hubert Jackson and Margaret Evans, her big dog, Arly; Caring neighbors, including Veronica and Lee Jones and Warren mines; And many other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will start at 9am until the time of the service at 11:30 am, on Monday, February 3, at the Monumental Baptist Church, 901 Woodmore Lane.
The interment will follow the Forest Hills Cemetery.
