Virginia: Fairfax County County goes to the Budget Loan Committee – CDC Gaming Reports

The discussion of a Tysons casino referendum has moved to the powerful budget loan committee.

The members of the Local Government Committee were directed by speaker Don Scott (D-88) yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) to send a bill to the Chamber’s Budget Committee without acting on it.

This meeting did not take public testimony to the casino bill, but Del Holly Saibold (D-12), which represents the Vienna and Tyson area, received its opinion.

“The voters in my area … They didn’t ask for that casino, nor do they want one,” she said.

The Commission then unanimously voted to give up control over the Budget Loan Committee’s bill, which is collected on Wednesday and Friday. However, the meeting of the committee today has been canceled according to its website.
