Two people trying to rob a “pop -up” store were killed during the exchanging in Chesapik. The bullets hit a nearby apartment, including a children’s kitchen.
Chesapeake, Washington – Three men were sentenced on Monday for roles in a drug trafficking and incident conspiracy that led to the death of two people in Chesapik, the Ministry of Justice said.
According to the department, 35-year-old Corny Conli from Virginia Beach, also known as Ko and Alan Conli, manages a large-scale drug trafficking organization, mainly based in Hampton Rhodes between January 2020 and November 2022.
The organization often sold drugs in “pop -up stores” in new places. Doj said the 27-year-old Javaid Reed of Chesapik and 29-year-old Kiron Spaler of Norfolk provided security in stores.
In 2021, Conli was robbed of shooting at a pop -up store of Providence Road in Chesapiq. Following this incident, Conli and his security were regularly armed.
On May 13, 2022, two armed people tried to plunder their pop -up Wintercress Way store in Chesapike. Conli and his worker opened fire.
Doj says Rashaown Markkes Johnson, 28 years old from Virginia Beach, and Conli, opened fire on the robbers, killing both.
The two casualties were identified as 26-year-old John Cortez McKenis of Norfolk and 24-year-old Darren Michael Bellardo of Portsmouth.
During the chaos, Davian Marcelis Jenkins, 27-year-old, from Suffolk, a pistol that beats one of the wounded suspects while lying to die in the lobby. The bullets from the stock exchange hit a nearby apartment, including a children’s kitchen, but no further injuries were reported.
After the skirmish, Conli and Jenkins were spotted removing controlled substances, money and firearms from the scene before fleeing. Later, Conli directed Jenkins to return to the location and dismantle security cameras that caught the incident. Jenkins complied by removing at least one camera from the front input. Then Conli escaped from the state.
Authorities have not yet published additional details about the pending charges or additional suspects involved in the case. The investigation remains continued.
Conli was convicted of a conspiracy for distribution and possession with the intention of spreading marijuana, psilocybin and psilocin, possession with the intention of spreading marijuana; Possession with the intention of spreading psilocybin and psilocin, possession, blurring and release of firearms to support a crime for drug trafficking and the continuation of the criminal enterprise.
Conli was sentenced to 40 years in prison today. Rashuan Johnson is planned to be sentenced on February 21st.
Other members of the organization have been convicted in the last year for various crimes, saying doj.
