NTSB said at its press conference that Barges from Virginia Beach are on their way to DC and will arrive until tomorrow morning.
Virginia Beach, Washington-National Transport Safety Council informs the media about the Medium Air Collision investigation on January 29, including a PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 and Sikors H-60 military helicopter near Ronald National Airport
Todd Inman, a NTSB member, told the audience how the Virginia Beach barges were on their way to the crash to help rescue efforts.
“As for the rescue at this point, the Navy of the SSALVAGE is conducting rescue operations in the present time. The barges are on the way from Virginia Beach and we expect them to be in the early morning,” he said.
Inman said efforts to rescue at the moment, but the “main elevator” will begin after the arrival of the barges. The DC medical examination will also support these efforts.
