Obituary
Virginia (Rowell) Barber, 81 from Newston, Connecticut, died peacefully on Saturday, January 18, at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Hartford to the George and Mary Rowell family, she grew up at this healthy end of Hartford. After graduating from Buckley High School in 1962, she worked at Aetna for several years. In June 1967, she married Francis Barber.
Ginny was active in the US Legion auxiliary squad, ward 23 for more than fifty years, with their former president. Ginny was an active member of the GFWC Women’s Club and was also a volunteer at Lucy Robins Wales library with all the “footnotes”, dispatches and sales of books. Ginny also works at Dress Barn for several years.
Ginny has survived her beloved husband Francis, daughter Maureen Barber and her sister Sheila Rowel, all from Newlington and several friends. The burial services will be comfortable for the family.
