A dramatic video from San Bernardino shows that firefighters are rescuing a young woman by removing her from a burning home out the window of their bedroom.

The Romero family has lost everything in their home for 25 years, but they are extremely grateful that 23-year-old Alise Romero was rescued by a group of heroic firefighters. The girl’s mother, Elizabeth, recalled the despair she was experiencing when she saw her family’s home on flames.

“I was just praying and praying to the Lord to give the fighters the power they needed to do what they had to do,” said Elizabeth Romero.

The firefighters received a call for the fire at about 11am on Monday on the 1300 block of Avenue N. Valencia. Two people managed to escape from the flame, but Alise, who is special needs, was trapped.

“My daughter is non -verbal and I remembered that I called her name,” Elizabeth said.

After learning that someone had been trapped in the burning home, firefighters moved through thick plum smoke in an attempt to find Alise.

“My crew and I immediately entered the structure and pressed the corridor,” said Captain Nick Turner of the San Bernardino County Fire Service. “We had strong smoke and warmth and fire that were blowing from above.”

Fortunately, Alise’s scream acted as a leader and helped the firefighters find her.

“I caught the girl and said,” Don’t worry, I took you. I’m not going to let you go, ”Turner said.

Turner and his crew were able to safely leave the home out the window of her bedroom. Then she was taken to a nearby hospital. Firefighters said it was in stable condition.

After the brave act of heroism from firefighters, tear Elizabeth had a message to the team that saved her daughter – “Thank you very much.”
