Brony James is getting ready to take on NBA players 1-on-1 in his debut season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Coach Chris Johnson shared a video on Instagram Wednesday showing James working out with Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland and free agent running back Talen Horton-Tucker.
Johnson wrote on Instagram that the workout was meant to give James possession and help him work on his “timing and conditioning.”
James, the son of Lakers star LeBron James, joined the Lakers as the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
He made his Lakers debut this July during Summer League competition in Las Vegas. After a relatively slow start, James shined in his final two summer contests, contributing 25 points on 10-of-21 shooting.
James made 25 appearances and six starts in his first 2023-24 season at USC after recovering from heart surgery last summer.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski previously reported that James is expected to move to the G League after making his NBA debut with the Lakers, but offseason work with the pros could help the 19-year-old accelerate how quickly he can to return from the South Bay Lakers.
