Lenny Coutur flew regional aircraft for an American eagle at this airport hundreds of times. He says the pilots had to be alert and aware that everything could happen in the most limited and most conloaded airspace in the country.
Reporter Joe Carroll: Have you had close calls yourself?
Lenny Couture: Oh, yes, yes. Helicopters immediately from your wings and under you and other planes, you have traffic at 1 hour. Yes!
Couture says US pilots have made a normal approach and may have never seen the crash come.
