Warren, vt. (WCAX) – Wcax confirmed that Vice President JD Vance will go to Sugarbush skiing this upcoming weekend.
This weekend temperatures look good in the Luda River Valley, so the Vice President has decided to hit the slopes.
“It’s nice that they come to Vermont, we don’t get a lot of action here,” said Adam Mirmen of Montpellier.
Sugarbush boasts 228 inches this season, competing well with Utah and Colorado Rocky Rocks.
Mimren believes that Vance’s choice to come here can be good for the local economy. Vance is expected to remain at The Pitcher Inn in Warren.
“I hope he enjoys him, because it’s beautiful here, you know, why not?” said Mirmen.
Others are not so happy about the visit. Vermont was the first state to call for Harris and Walz. Trump and Vance took less than one-third of the state’s votes.
A resident of Warren who asked to remain anonymous says the city is not the right cultural goal for the Vice President. “No one here wants to see it. We don’t want his traffic. His policies are terrible and he does not exactly encourage Vermont’s values with everything he says, “they said.
WCAX also received a message that a protest against JD Vance arrives on Saturday at 9:00 at Waitsfield Green. Vermont State Police coordinate with the secret service and federal, district and local law enforcement. Officials say drivers should plan some delays during the expected motorcycle.
While the Vice President may be a dividing figure, Mimren says he does not think the vacation should be politicized.
“I hope all Vermonters can put their best leg forward and show why Vermonters are incredible and we are more than our political ideologies. I like to enjoy my country and we love it when other people do it, “Mimren said.
We do not know when or where exactly the Vice President will arrive, nor will he meet with the governor. We will provide more exclusive information as we learn it, so follow.
