VBPD Fatal Catastrophe Investigation, including Bonney Road Pedestrian – Virginiabeach.gov

On January 31, 2025, about 1:40 am, emergency communications and civil services (ECCS) received a call that reported a catastrophe involving a pedestrian in the Bonney Road 3700 block. Officers from the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) and staff from the Virginia Beach Fire Service and the emergency medical services of Virginia Beach responded to find Thomas Moore (M/63) by Virginia Beach, who died on the roadway.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the VBPD (TSU) movement safety department have found that Moore has been struck and killed by a vehicle that escapes from the scene.
