From the Carson City senior center:
Due to the time and an abundance of caution for our dishes of wheels, staff, volunteers and adults in the community, the senior center will be closed and the wheels will not be supplied on Thursday. For our customers on wheels on wheels, please eat frozen meals delivered this week.
“We expect to resume normal delivery tomorrow. Our domestic meals, activities and meetings are also canceled today,” the press said.
From the City School District Carson:
An update at 6:45 am due to the conditions related to time, all schools in the school district of Karson will be closed throughout the day on Thursday.
All employees and students should stay home. There will be no activities of students, programs or practices after school, including distance learning. School services such as transport, nutrition or health are not provided.
From the governor’s office:
The Ministry of Transport in Nevada (NDOT) and the Ministry of Public Safety (DPS) report ice roads and potentially dangerous driving conditions in Washoe, Carson, Douglas, Storey, Lyon this morning. As such, Governor Lombardo ordered a 2-hour delay for all civil servants of the executive body (other than the main public safety and adjustments staff) in these counties this morning. State government services in these areas should be opened today at 10am.
“The safety and well-being of state employees are of the greatest concern for the governor and he calls them to drive carefully,” the press said.
Washoe County Schools are also a two -hour delay.

• Douglas County Schools
• Washoe district schools are on a two -hour delay.
Western Nevada College:
College staff in West Nevada have decided to close the campus of the city of Carson and the Center for Development of Children on Thursday, February 13, due to dangerous weather conditions.
However, the college is conducting a business remote.

From the University of Nevada, Renault:
After assessing time and road conditions around the University of Nevada, Renault Campus, a decision has been made to delay the beginning of the non -essential campus operations (campus operations refers to any work performed in the main university campus, office, field, field, field Work or sponsored events in Renault) by 10am today.
Web classes and remote operations will continue on schedule. All personal hours before 10am are canceled.
The Redfield campus, building A in 18600 Wedge Pkwy., Is also delayed and will open at 10 am in Nevada, Renault in Wayne L. Lake Taho, has stopped personal hours and insignificant operations today.

The National Meteorological Service (Weather.gov) predicts heavy snow with an accumulation of up to 5 inches below the elevation over 5500 feet and up to 1 foot over 5500 feet.
“Moderate -to -heavy snowfall periods are most likely early Thursday morning with a mixing of rain with snow on the valleys on Thursday afternoon,” NWS said.
A mixture of rain and snow is predicted for Friday, and rain is possible every day until Monday, according to NWS.
